What about future improvements?

The Bristol Corridor was split into 5 major phases. Phase 1 & 2 have been completed. Phase 3 (Civic Center to Washington) is under construction. The final segment, Phase 5 of the project (18th to Elm) is not funded and will be revisited in the future.

Empty lots after construction will be designated to be developed as commercial options, parks, or parks with commercial options. The City will follow the Surplus Lands Act process to sell the remaining commercial lots.

Who will maintain the empty lots?

During construction, the contractor will be responsible for maintaining the lots.

After construction, the City will maintain the lots until they are sold or developed as parks.
Will traffic be impacted?

Yes, as with any roadway construction, traffic disruptions are inevitable. However, the project is designed to maintain at least two lanes in each direction. Once completed, the roadway will have three lanes in each direction, improving traffic flow.
How are we going to mitigate construction noise?

An 8-foot sound wall will be constructed to reduce noise.

The contractor must follow designated working hours that restrict loud activities during overnight and early morning hours.
How are we going to mitigate construction dust?

The contractor is required to regularly sweep the street and implement best practices to minimize dust.
Where will the contractor stage their equipment material?

The contractor will use the existing vacant lots on both sides of Bristol for construction staging. However, there will be designated areas away from residences for the contractor to maintain their heavy stockpiling and large equipment.
Will work occur at night or on weekends?

Yes, there will be occasional night and weekend work, depending on the particular scope of work that applies. This may include special items like power/water shutdowns and work on a street intersection.
Will my power or other utility services be impacted/shut off during construction? And how will I be notified?

Yes, there will be utility services impacted at times during construction. You will be notified with a door hanger within 48 hours detailing the shutdown.
When will parking be affected?

Yes, parking will be affected by the new improvements, and during construction temporary parking restrictions will apply. There will be a “No Parking” sign within the parkway areas detailing the time(s) and date(s) of the parking restrictions.
How am I getting notified for changes or disruptions?

There will be various avenues of notifications for both projects which may include updates on the Bristol website, flyers, door hangers, and social media posts.
